The Norwalk Public Schools system is a vibrant educational community committed to standards of excellence in the classroom. In a highly diverse city of 80,000, Norwalk's 19 public
schools serve more than 11,000 students who represent a rainbow of races, nationalities, religious and cultural backgrounds, as well as income levels. The district includes a nationally recognized magnet elementary school, gifted
and talented programs, bilingual education, special education and a full-day kindergarten. The district employs about 1,200 people to carry out its educational mission. About 88% of Norwalk's graduating seniors pursue some
